Software Engineering Senior Advisor Site Reliability Engineering Position Summary:

Join the team that manages the end to end technology and life cycle management of the applications hosted both on premise and in the AWS cloud. We are looking for an experienced Site Reliability Engineer to join the Data and Analytics Engineering (D&AE) operations team. The SRE will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and availability of our systems and applications hosted both on premise as well as on AWS cloud platform. The ideal candidate will have a strong software engineer background and automation experience in managing complex applications at scale.

& Responsibilities:

• Manage highly available and scalable applications.
• Enable monitoring and alerting to proactively identify & resolve the issues before they impact the users.
• Perform root cause analysis on failures and develop & implement solutions to prevent the future occurrences.
• Automate deployments and configuration management tasks to streamline operations.
• Collaborate with development teams to design and deploy features focusing on resiliency.
• Participate in on-call rotations and respond to the emergencies as needed.
• Automation of application health checks and manual workarounds.
• Enable the self-healing capabilities to reduce the human interference, user impact and to increase the availability.
• Mentor the junior members in the team on SRE best practices, adoption and maturity.

Experience Required:

• 3+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering .
• 3+ years of hands on development experience with Python.
• Experience with AWS services.
• Hands on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) preferably Terraform.
• Experience with Databricks.
• Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) tools.
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools.

Experience Desired:

• Experience with Snowflake.
• Experience with any relational database management systems.
• Experience with identifying key performance indicators and defining & measuring the service level objectives.
• Experience with containerization and container orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes etc.).
• Experience with any relational database management systems.

Education and Training Required:

Bachelors or Masters degree in the related field.

Primary Skills:

• Site Reliability Engineering, Python, AWS, Terraform, Databrick, CI/CD.
• Monitoring and Logging.

Additional Skills:

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to details.

Strong communication and collaboration skills.
