Job Description

As a Software Engineer at Lightcast, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software solutions that meet the needs of our clients. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and implement robust and scalable software solutions. This role requires a strong foundation in software development principles and the ability to contribute to the entire software development lifecycle.

Major Responsibilites

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze requirements for software projects. Design and develop high-quality software solutions using established coding standards and best practices. Conduct thorough testing and debugging of software to ensure high quality, reliability and performance. Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality, identify areas for improvement, and provide constructive feedback. Document technical specifications, system designs, and processes to facilitate effective collaboration and knowledge sharing. stay updated with emerging technologies, industry trends, and advancements in software engineering.

Skills

TypeScript / JavaScript (Programming Language) React.js (JavaScript Library) Next.js / Remix (Frameworks) Python (Programming Language) Java / PHP (Programming Languages) - a plus SQL Agile Methodology Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment Software Engineering

Abilities

Proficiency in one or more programming languages, such as TypeScript, JavaScript, Java, or Python. Demonstrates rapid adaptation to changes and a keen learning aptitude. Solid understanding of software development principles, data structures, and algorithms. Experience with web development frameworks and technologies (e.g., Next.js, Remix, Vue, Angular) is a plus. Familiarity with relational databases and SQL. Knowledge of version control systems and software development tools. Strong problem-solving and debugging skills. Understanding of software testing principles and methodologies. Demonstrates a strong passion for software development and a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to effectively address complex technical challenges. Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams. Detail-oriented, focused on writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code. Ability to work in an agile and fast-paced environment, adapting to changing priorities and delivering results.

Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus. 2+ years of professional experience in software engineering or related roles. Strong academic performance or relevant coursework/projects may compensate for limited professional experience.
