About the Team: The Content Sourcing Platform scrum team plans to implement solutions to automating content extraction using the latest engineering techniques. The Midgard team in Avalara applies Machine Learning techniques to solve complex engineering problems. The team creates solutions to assist the daily activities for tax researches by automated change detection and content extraction. About the Role: We want a talented engineer who can implement solutions using functional programming and OOP. The person should have good DS and algo and software engineering skills. The person should have strong inclination to build end to end engineering solutions instead of only building proof of concept solutions. What You'll Do:

• Proof of concept solutioning
• Apply data structures and algorithms to solve business problems
• Software development
• Infrastructure automation
• Code reviews
• Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action. Builds productive internal/external working relationships.
• Have professional expertise, applies company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues.
• Building products end to end: from design till production deployment in cloud

Who You Are:

• 2 - 4 Years of experience in developing software applications.
• Bachelors or Masters degree with computer science exposure
• Strong knowledge of software fundamentals, data structures and algorithms
• CI/CD skills
• Optimizing and scaling products
• Distributed systems
• Cloud-based software
• Outstanding problem solving and debugging skills
• Strong understanding of object-oriented design & development and common design patterns
