Overview

PENNEP is seeking a skilled Software Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in NodeJS, JavaScript or TypeScript, ReactJS, NextJS, API design and development, and NoSQL database design and development. The candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining software applications, as well as collaborating with cross-functional teams to create innovative solutions.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications using

Node.js, Next.js, and JavaScript

. Build and optimize

AWS Lambda

functions to support backend logic and API integrations. Utilise

AWS S3

for efficient file storage and retrieval solutions. Create and maintain RESTful and GraphQL APIs to support application functionalities. Write clean, efficient, and reusable code while troubleshooting and resolving technical issues. Work closely with cross-functional teams, document technical processes, and contribute to best practices. Implement security best practices and optimise application performance for scalability. Assist junior developers by reviewing code, sharing knowledge, and ensuring adherence to coding standards.

Required Skills and Experience

Proven 1+ year of experience as a Software Developer, with a strong understanding of NodeJS, JavaScript or TypeScript, ReactJS, NextJS. Strong understanding of REST API design, implementation and management. Strong understanding of database design and management, including SQL and NoSQL databases. Strong understanding of web development best practices (responsive design, SEO, security, performance, web accessibility). Strong understanding of code quality best practices. Experience with modern software development methodologies, including Agile, Scrum, and DevOps. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
