Software Engineer

works with a team of developers of varied skillsets (together known as Caterpillars scrum team) to design and develop the best of breed software offerings for the CRM industry. The D&AI team combine their industry knowledge and Pega's innovative technology to create products that will be used to solve business problems or inefficiencies for our customers. Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software Engineer to join our Machine Learning & AI team. This role involves designing, implementing, and optimizing ML pipelines and AI-driven features across enterprise-grade applications. The ideal candidate will contribute to strategic initiatives such as Process AI, Natural Language Processing and Generative AI and build performant solutions using them.

What You'll Do at Pega:

Develop and maintain ML/AI components including Text Service, NLP, Process AI and Gen AI Adoptions Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI capabilities into platform services and decisioning tools. Work on datasets such as Parquet. Participate in sprint planning, demos, and reviews. Handle job configuration, execution, and monitoring using internal frameworks and tools. Address customer issues and contribute to hotfixes and incident resolution.

Collaboration & Communication:

Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and business analysts, to understand project requirements and ensure quality.

Who You Are:

You are a Software Engineer who is a Full Stack Developer and specialized in

java and passionate about exploring and applying the latest cutting-edge technologies to maintain high quality of the product.

Around 2-4 years of software development experience.*
Agile/Scrum development methodology knowledge/experience.*
Strong programming skills in Java.*
Strong in Data structures and algorithms.*
Knowledge on testing frameworks like Cucumber, Junit etc...*
Ability to troubleshoot performance issues and optimize resource usage.*
Experience with ML frameworks and data processing tools (e.g., Parquet, Spark) will be added advantage.*
Should be able to leverage Generative AI capabilities in the role.

Successfully designed and implemented comprehensive test plans and strategies, covering functional, non-functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
