As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Global ESX Infrastructure team, you will have the opportunity to advance your career by supporting large-scale enterprise systems. You will help build and run reliable, scalable, and secure ESX virtualization platforms, combining software and systems engineering to deliver creative solutions and promote operational excellence in a dynamic environment.
Job responsibilities
Monitor, maintain, and improve reliability and availability of ESX environments
Analyze system performance and implement optimization strategies for ESX hosts and virtual machines
Set up and manage monitoring tools and alerting systems to proactively address issues
Ensure ESX environments adhere to security policies and compliance requirements
Add to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect
Monitor, maintain, and improve reliability and availability of ESX environments
Respond to and resolve incidents, performing root cause analysis and implementing preventive measures
Develop and maintain automation scripts for deployment, configuration, and remediation tasks
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
Strong experience with VMware ESX/ESXi and vCF administration and troubleshooting
Proficient in scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, or PowerShell
Hands-on experience with incident management and troubleshooting in large-scale environments
Solid understanding of networking, storage, and virtualization concepts
Familiarity with Agile development processes and automated testing
Experience with monitoring tools such as vRealize Log Insight or vRealize Aria Operations
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Experience designing and implementing Infrastructure as Code solutions
Knowledge of automation frameworks and CI/CD pipelines
Strong communication and documentation skills
Exposure to financial services or regulated environments
