How will you make an impact in this role?
The successful candidate for this role will work within Enterprise Identity supporting the platform uplift of Universal Customer Identification (UCID) and Customer Identification Service (CIS) to Enterprise Identity and any further POA solutions. UCID and CIS are an American Express' application which authenticates the Card Member and Banking customer that is in need of American Express customer care and services. These applications support all the Amex customers across channels (except MYCA). It services most customer service platforms globally, fulfilling the Amex brand commitments and servicing promise through flawless implementation of a modern highly configurable platform. The chosen candidate will be exposed to a wide range of technologies and challenges.
Specifically, this candidate will:

  • Assist technology leader in building solutions.
  • Work with the following technologies:
o Java, J2EE technologies
o React based internal and external web application
o Restful APIs developed on Springboot
o In Memory Cache like Redis, ehCache
o Cloud services
o Experience in Oracle, Mongo, Cassandra and Postgres
o Middleware services built in American Express's cloud environment that integrate to a broad set of technologies
o American Express's cloud solutions like One-Data, One-Stream
o American Express's Drool based solution ACE Rules
  • Partner in the design, review, and document solutions.
  • Drive consistent development practices through the creation and enforcement of team processes including design, code, and test plan reviews.
  • Perform code reviews.
  • Hands-on software development.
  • Identify opportunities for adopting new technology to solve existing needs and predicting future challenges.
  • Develop a deep understanding of application designs and system integrations.
  • Work with Product Owners, Application Directors and tech leads contributing to roadmaps.
  • Ensure that technical solutions meet compliance requirements.

Qualifications
5+ years designing and implementing technologies.
Experience developing highly resilient, complex, GDHA solutions.
Experience with writing applications for Amex cloud environment.
Ability and desire to learn and apply multiple technologies within a broad set of solution domains.
High degree of problem-solving skills with a mindset for designing reliable, long living solutions.
Ability to effectively communicate solution designs to developers and business partners.
Strong organization and prioritization skills.
Strong ability to communicate effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
Bachelor's degree or relevant experience.
Desired:
o Experience with multiple programming languages and technology stacks.
o Experience with contact centers technologies and financial systems.
o Experience working in an Agile or Scaled Agile (SAFe) environment.
