Brief Description:
Senior Data warehouse engineer at D&B plays a key role in building the next generation Financial Datawarehouse in the Finance space. The position of Senior Datawarehouse engineer requires the ideal candidate to be passionate about building next generation extremely large, scalable and fast distributed systems on Microsoft BI stack. The candidate will be responsible for all aspects of the data democratization and architecture, metrics and reporting platform for enabling data driven product decision making and innovations for entire Finance business having strong experience with all standard data warehousing technical components (e.g. ETL, Reporting, and Data Modeling), infrastructure (e.g. hardware and software) and their integration. The ideal candidate will have a deep technology background, and will draw upon solid analytical, critical thinking and extensive experience in dimensional modeling, data architecture, excellent problem-solving ability dealing with huge volumes of data to sieve emerging patterns and trends from large amount of data and a short learning curve with the aptitude to incorporate new approaches and methodologies while dealing with big data. Besides, excellent business and communication skills are a must to develop and define key business questions and to build data sets that answer those questions.

Further, team members must have a deep understanding of Sales and Revenue Recognition processing while understanding how the product base drives the data elements. The integration with upstream and downstream applications is key to deriving the correct calculations. An indepth understanding of the ASC 606 standards will assist in the determining how and why the data is used and shepherded throughout the D&B workflow for Sales and Revenue.

As the position is very specific to D&B Processes, a base of knowledge of the internal D&B systems and overall structure is a strong plus.

Education/Experience and Competencies:
Ideal candidate will have 5+ years of SQL server development and/or NoSQL technology experience
Advanced proficiency in TSQL, data modelling, query design, ETL Development, stored procedures, performance troubleshooting and optimization, OLTP and data warehousing fundamentals and principles
5+ years of industry extensive experience in building/operating highly available, distributed systems of data extraction, ingestion, and processing of large data sets using SQL Server
Good understanding of relational database design, SQL Server internals and NoSQL
Experience using Team Foundation Server (TFS), SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and SQL Server Business Intelligence Development Studio and business intelligence tools (SAS, Tableau, Business Objects)
Proficiency in Python/R for building statistical models and/or data mining algorithms and practical experience of applying these to business problems
Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience required;
Proven track record of successful communication of data infrastructure, data models, and data engineering solutions through written communication, including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams
Knowledge of software engineering best practices across the development lifecycle, including agile methodologies, coding standards, code reviews, source management, build processes, testing, and operations
Experience working with cloud or on-prem Big Data/MPP analytics platform(i.e. AWS Redshift, AWS S3, Azure Data Warehouse, or similar)
