Responsibilities:

As a Problem Management Specialist at Telstra you will play a crucial role in ensuring the stability and reliability of our telecom services. You will be responsible for identifying, analyzing, and resolving complex issues within our connected API/microservice ecosystem. Your strong problem-solving skills, domain knowledge, and technical expertise will be essential in maintaining the high-quality service we deliver to our customers.

Problem Management: Identify and analyze telecom-related issues, prioritize them, and coordinate their resolution.

Connected API/Microservice Ecosystem: Work within a connected API/microservice environment to diagnose and troubleshoot issues.

Triage and Coordination: Efficiently triage and prioritize incidents, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure swift resolution.

Resilience & Pro-active monitoring: Use Observability & SRE practices to ensure appropriate detection of deterioration of services pro-actively and resolve before real customer impact.

Process Automation: Automate repetitive tasks required for service level maintenance or remediation

Basic Telecom Domain Knowledge: Utilize your understanding of telecom concepts to address and resolve problems effectively.

Communication Skills: Communicate clearly and effectively with team members and stakeholders.

Analytical Ability: Use data and analytics to identify trends, root causes, and areas for improvement.

Technical Skills: Utilize tools such as Java, SRE, New Relic, Splunk, AWA knowledge, and scripting languages like Perl, Python, Ruby, VBScript, and PowerShell to perform operations triage and automate tasks.

Essential Skills:

Minimum 3+ years of experience in telecom or a related domain.

Proven experience in problem management and incident triage.

Strong knowledge of ITIL, SRE Practices

Programming experience in java, python or any other scripting languages

Implementation experience of observability tooling (setup dashboards, write queries) \xe2\x80\x93 eg. New Relic, Splunk

Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.

Effective communication and coordination abilities.

Desirable Skills:

SRE Practice Implementation: Experience in implementing Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices.

Power BI: Familiarity with Power BI for data visualization and analysis.

Microservices / API: Knowledge of microservices architecture and API design.

Object-Oriented Programming (OOPs) / Declarative SQL: Understanding of OOPs concepts and declarative SQL for data manipulation.
