Ciena is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Software Engineer to join our team. This position offers an exceptional opportunity to elevate your career by working with advanced technologies, including data-driven northbound interfaces (CLI/REST/NETCONF/gRPC) powered by YANG data models, while contributing to the evolution of SDN, NFV, and AI.


How You Will Contribute:Drive automation and integration testing, collaborating closely with the software development team to ensure seamless functionality. Develop and enhance test suites, author test scripts, and validate solutions to deliver high-quality products. Contribute to the integration of enabling technologies, including third-party software and AI tools.

The Must Haves:Proficiency in Python programming with strong debugging capabilities. Practical experience with YANG data models, REST APIs, gRPC, NetConf, and diverse data formats. Familiarity with AI and open-source technologies is an advantage. Demonstrated self-initiative and problem-solving mindset, ensuring optimal solutions for customers. Master's or Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across geographically diverse teams. Proven ability to work independently and deliver results within aggressive timelines. 3-8 years of relevant industry experience.

Nice to Haves:Experience in SDN/NFV technologies and their application in modern networks. Exposure to AI-driven tools and frameworks for testing and integration. Knowledge of cloud-native architectures and containerization technologies. Familiarity with agile development methodologies and CI/CD pipelines.
