While Basketball Operations runs the league's on-court activities, other departments manage relationships with television and digital media partners, develop marketing partnerships with some of the world's most recognizable companies, oversee the licensing of NBA merchandise, and handle a wide range of responsibilities that drive the NBA's success.

The Front-End Software Engineer will support, develop and maintain various websites for the NBA, NBA 2K League, WNBA, G League and Basketball Africa League. This will include the development of state-of-the-art, mobile-first, database and feed driven websites as well as ensuring operational excellence during games and league tentpole events.

The candidate should be an expert in their field and work closely with the Senior Manager of Digital Product Development in helping lead the team strategically in achieving our goals. The ideal candidate for this role should be an effective communicator, working in partnership with the Technical Lead of Digital Operations as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all things front-end support of the league's digital products.

As a founding member of the NBA's Front-End Engineering presence in India, the candidate will be critical to establishing NBA engineering and supporting best practices as the team continues to grow in the region. Candidate must work well in a fast-paced 24x7 work environment, displaying strong problem-solving skills, exceptional work ethic, ability to read environments and think outside of the box.

Major Responsibility:

• Set coding standards and help drive the strategic technical direction of our league development efforts
• Gather business requirements and design technical solutions to meet those needs
• Lead the development in building fully functional websites based on business requirements and design specs
• Understand and modify existing systems as business requirements change
• Develop system test criteria and participate in systems testing
• Respond to, isolate and resolve programming problems
• Provide support for production systems when needed

• 3+ years working on an engineering team leveraging Agile methodologies
• At least three years of experience building highly available/scalable websites in an enterprise environment
• Front-End Superstar. Deep understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript and ReactJS Frameworks
• Strong knowledge of web server technologies (i.e. Apache) and Server-Side Rendering (SSI) technologies such as NextJS
• Strong knowledge of Amazon Web Services inclusive of Lambda, S3 and other micro-services
• Strong knowledge of application performance monitoring and logging analytics tools (i.e. New Relic, Loggly, etc.)
• Excellent written and verbal skills

• BS in computer science, electrical engineering or a related technical discipline.
