We are looking for a skilled

Software Engineer

specializing in Debian to join our Linux Sieve Guards team.


This role focuses on managing manual interventions for failing package groups, resolving build failures, and maintaining the stability of systems by implementing effective solutions.

Responsibilities

Perform DEB packaging to support system stability Utilize expertise in the Debian release pipeline to analyze and resolve package-related challenges Modify and adapt C, C++, Python, Go, Rust, and occasionally Ocaml or Perl code for lightweight patches based on changes in the codebase Reapply or remove existing lightweight patches in collaboration with Linux team peer review processes Create and maintain high-quality documentation, including instructions for resolving common issues Utilize git to identify and pull patches from upstream sources into lightweight patch workflows

Requirements

3 to 5 years of experience in software development, with a focus on Linux and Debian Knowledge of Debian package management and release processes Capability to analyze code across multiple languages including C, C++, Python, Go, Rust Familiarity with version control systems, particularly git, to manage patches Background in writing precise and effective technical documentation
