Summary: What you need to know about the role We are looking for an experienced Engineers to be part of the AMPS (AI, ML, Platform Solutions) Engineering Team. The candidate will be responsible for analysis, design, development, and testing of application code. The candidate will interact with global cross-functional teams to address complex business requirements. The individual should be self-motivated, possess creative problem-solving skills as well as the ability to handle multiple projects at the same time. Meet our team AMPS (AI, ML, Platform Solutions) is a PayPal unit specializing in development of data solutions as well as data-science, Machine-Learning and AI solutions for multiple domains across PayPal - Risk, Fraud, Credit Sales, Marketing, Customer-support, Product experience, Global Operation and more. We use data, technology, and innovative machine learning algorithms to drive business results and improve customer experience. : Your way to impact This role is a for a team that generates data for horizontal solutions in a cloud environment using Big Data tech stack. Wherever there is need, the person fitting this role will also have to contribute to existing Infra that enables generating these data sets. The solutions built by this team has significant impact with respect to revenue and loss savings. This team also collaborates with internal and external teams to contribute to the tools required for feature generation and machine learning operations to serve Data scientists for their modelling needs. Your day to day Participate and collaborate with cross functional teams in the organization to understand the business requirements and to deliver solutions that can scale. Plan the execution of the project in an effective and efficient manner. Apply creativity and out of the box thinking. Proactively anticipate problems and appropriately communicate to the team and management in a timely manner. Be flexible to support all functions of product life cycle when required. Adapt quickly and working in a fast-paced environment. Deliver with high quality from coarse grained requirements. Be a Mentor for the junior members in the organization. What do you need to bring Bachelor\'s/Master\'s in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience 6+ years of experience in the IT industry, experience in Data space is preferred. Advanced scripting experience Expertise in Hadoop, Spark, Spark-sql, sql, Scala Knowledge of Scheduling Tools is a plus. Excellent written and oral communication skills Strong analytical skills including the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Exposure to Google technologies like Big Query, Big Table, Data proc is a plus. Familiar with data movement techniques and best practices to handle large volumes of data. Experience with data warehousing architecture and data modeling best practices Experience with File Systems, server architectures, and distributed systems Strong communication skills and willingness to take initiative to contribute beyond basic responsibilities.
