This role focuses on Learn, a product in which we pride ourselves on creating well-designed web and mobile solutions to support learners, instructors, and administrators. Learn allows learners and instructors to access online educational experiences wherever and whenever they want through web and mobile devices. Our technology helps instructors breathe life into educational content, brings efficiency to day-to-day tasks, and empowers instructors with tools to engage and assess every learner. We help motivate learners by promoting collaboration, communication, and connections with their peers and instructors.

As a member of our Product Development organization, you'll work in an agile environment delivering industry-leading SaaS products and web service platforms. You'll be deeply involved in translating wireframes and sketches into working prototypes to refine user interface behaviors.

Primary responsibilities will include:

  • Building and maintaining backend REST Services using Java
  • Building and maintaining front end libraries and frameworks with JavaScript
  • Participating in user-centered research through client focus groups, interviews, usage analysis, and rapid prototyping
  • Profiling and optimizing code to get the best performance for browsers and operating systems
  • Working closely with designers and other developers in a tightly knit, agile team
  • Helping to incorporate industry best practices and important developments into our products
  • Participating and encouraging superior development practices including design reviews, code reviews, and peer mentoring
The Candidate:

Required skills/qualifications:
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience
  • Experience developing single-page JavaScript applications and frameworks such as React, Redux, or Angular
  • Knowledge of RESTful web services, authentication and access management protocols and products (SAML, OIDC, OAuth)
  • Knowledge of Docker- and Kubernetes-based CI/CD lifecycles and pipelines
  • Knowledge of large-scale, cloud environments; AWS; cloud-based solution implementation and maintenance
  • Knowledge of domain driven design and service-oriented architecture
  • Experience with test driven development
  • Experience with API gateway technologies (such as Ambassador, Kong, or Gloo)
  • Experience with container-based technologies (such as Istio, JenkinsX, or Fluentd)
  • Experience with AWS services (such as Kubernetes, DynamoDB, CloudFront, Aurora)
  • Experience with Java and common Java frameworks
  • Experience with scripting language (such as Python, Ruby, or Groovy)
  • Proficient in common storage and messaging technologies (SQL, NoSQL, Redis, Kafka, Elasticsearch)
Preferred skills/qualifications:
  • 2-5 years of experience

We have an office in one of the biggest cultural, economic, and educational centers in South India: Chennai.
  • Located on OMR, the IT corridor of South Chennai
