What you'll do

In your new role, you’ll engineer and maintain innovative, customer centric, high performance, secure and robust solutions. You’ll be working within a feature team and using extensive experience to engineer software, scripts and tools that are often complex, as well as liaising with other engineers, architects and business analysts across the platform. You’ll also be:

• Producing complex and critical software rapidly and of high quality which adds value to the business
• Working in permanent teams who are responsible for the full life cycle, from initial development, through enhancement and maintenance to replacement or decommissioning
• Collaborating to optimise our software engineering capability
• Designing, producing, testing and implementing our working code
• Working across the life cycle, from requirements analysis and design, through coding to testing, deployment and operations

The skills you'll need

We’re looking for someone who has experience in performance engineering for distributed systems and in delivering design options, analysis papers, and design approval management. You’ll also have experience working for an agile team with the ability to work within a cross-functional team. You’ll need a background in solving highly complex, analytical and numerical problems. Importantly, you’ll be an expert in implementing programming best practice around scalability, automation, virtualization, optimisation, availability, and performance. You’ll also need:

• Experience with Java, Springboot, ReactJS, OOPs, microservices, TeamCity or equivalent build tool, Oracle/NoSql DB build tools, and Maven/Gradle
• Experience with Java web and microservices including SOAP & REST, Spring MVC Framework, ANT/MAVEN, Kotlin, Functional Programming and PCF
• Knowledge of Websphere Application Server and Java at 8.x level or higher
• Experience on messaging systems, caching systems, scheduler, Autosys jobs, Cloud PCF, AWS, and Azure would be advantageous
