Job Description

We are currently seeking a Software Engineer (PHP or Java) to take ownership of designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and high-performing software products that support Sage's strategic objectives and long-term vision. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to core product development using modern engineering principles and practices.
As a Software Engineer at Sage, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and quality engineers, to deliver reliable and impactful solutions. You will play a key role in shaping the technical direction of our offerings and driving continuous improvements.
*** This is a hybrid position - working 3 days a week from our Bangalore office. ***
Key Responsibilities - Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality software using PHP based on business requirements and architectural guidance.
- Collaborate closely with product teams and other engineers to define technical solutions and ensure successful delivery.
- Participate in agile ceremonies including sprint planning, code reviews, and retrospectives.
- Implement scalable and maintainable code following best practices in software design, testing, and documentation.
- Ensure that solutions meet performance, quality, and security standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes and tools.
Requirements:
- 1-2 years of experience as a Software Engineer
- Degree in Computer Science
