Job Title & Purpose Job Title: EN-FR-06_001: Software Development Engineer DDU (SDE-DDU) Purpose of the Job Delivery and Technically lead Train Control and Monitoring System (TCMS) Human Machine Interface (HMI) Software and integration of the module, according to his / her Engineering Work Package. Deployment and application of Train Control & Information Solutions development procedures and processes on his / her project.. Position in the Organisation Hierarchical : Software Domain Leader Operational : Train Control Engineer Network & Links Train Control Engineer / Control Engineers Train Control & Monitoring System - Subsystem Engineer Verification & Validation Engineer Missions Performance Measurement/KPI\'s Quality of the delivery (included sub-contractor delivery):1st time quality rate 90% (quality rate = modification validated OK / number of modifications applied) Respect of the delivery planning (included sub-contractor delivery):100% OTD Level of application of std Methodologies and Processes for his / her project: 100% Continuous improvement & Return on Experience (RoE) management from previous projects Responsibilities Developing Work breakdown structure and updating all stakeholders periodically through meeting and reports. Developing HMI Software requirements in compliance with Train System Requirements and Architecture Description, considering the RAMS constraints. Interface with System Engineers, Control Engineers, RAMS Engineers and Supplier for finalizing the requirements for implementation Preparing Interfaces Control Description (ICD) between software and equipment (Supplier and inhouse). Architecture Design/Developing software / modules while assuring and maximizing the reuse of standard configurable software components Experienced on Human Machine Interface Requirement definition, Software Development and Executable generation. Knowledge on displays and Troubleshooting on Display/ Hardware on Testbench is preferred Generating executable code to be loaded on the computers of the MPU (Main Process Unit) and DDU (Display Driver Unit) Provide support during train integration and validation Manage the Return of Experience of his activity for both design process and applicative function library with Root Cause Analysis Implement the development practices and rules as defined in the Train Control support plans (Quality, Configuration Management, Development Plan) Maintaining and Controlling KPIs for the project and reporting to S/W Domain Leader. Manage Workload for team Job Specifications Knowledge & Experience Hands-on design and development experience of complete software development life cycle in two or more projects - phases like system / software requirement gathering, Requirement Analysis, Software Architecture Design, Software design and development, Software-Software integration, Hardware Software Integration etc, with minimum 12 years of experience. Managed at least 3 projects following complete SDLC Experience on Human Machine Interface Requirement definition, Software Development and Executable generation is preferred. Additionally, Knowledge on displays, display layouts, UI/UX and ergonomics. Experience in developing the tools and utilities that support software development process. Experience in developing in HMI software based on IEC 61131-3 standard specifically Structured Text language using object oriented/model based development tools like 3S Codesys or Qt etc. Knowledge in working with real-time enhanced embedded Linux distribution like TimeSys Linux/RT and bash scripting. Generating HMI executable code to be loaded on the target and trouble shooting at Hardware, Testbench and System at Site Experience in developing software in PLC programming like FBD, SFC preferred Experience in developing software in HMI tools like VAPS XT, Codesys etc and complete back end coding for application layer (also - network layer preferred) Familiarity with real-time, distributed controllers and their functioning. Knowledge of network protocols like Ethernet, CAN, RS232, RS 485, MVB, 1553B, AFDX, A429, A629 etc. Knowledge on EN50128 standard or equivalent standards with knowledge/experience in safety critical software development or mission critical software development. Work experience / Knowledge of Train Control and Monitoring system preferred.
