Azure Data is the world leader in data management and processing with products such as SQL Server, Azure HDInsight, and Azure Synapse. We build reliable, cloud scale and high-performance distributed systems for big-data analytics on Azure. Azure Synapse is a limitless analytics service that brings together enterprise data warehousing and Big Data analytics. The Synapse core team is the heart of Synapse. It is a cloud native distributed platform that handles all the control flows and co-ordinates with dozens of other technologies like Spark, Machine Learning, Messaging, SQL etc. to ensure a seamless Analytics experience for our customers.

We are experiencing massive growth in demand for our services - since the product went live last year, our customer traffic has grown by scales of magnitude. We are looking for a new, stellar engineer to join our team to help us tackle the new challenges we face as we strive to improve our services under scale. We are highly collaborative, data-oriented, and greatly value diversity of thought and ideas.

As an Individual Contributor, you will help us realize the vision above in many ways:

• Enhance and integrate new verticals to Azure Synapse with focus on efficiency, scalability reliability, and security.
• Owning the Synapse components and driving them end to end, all the way from gathering requirements, development, testing, deployment to ensuring high availability post deployment.
• Contribute to the architecture & design of the Azure Data products.

Triaging issues and implementing solutions to restore service with minimal disruption to the customer and business. Perform root cause analysis, trend analysis and postmortems.

Academics: B.E/ B.Tech or equivalent degrees in Computer Science (Masters is a plus).

Experience: 3+ years of industry experience.

Successful candidates will have excellent experience in one or more of these areas:

• Enterprise products design and implementation (Java/C#)
• Experience building secure single page web applications using modern JS and CSS frameworks
• Experience building and shipping production grade on prem or cloud services.
• Experience building and operating online services and fault-tolerant distributed systems.
• Experience using agile methodologies or test-driven development (TDD).
• Committing or contributing to any Open-Source big data technologies
• Distributed systems design and implementation

Working experience on any of the below technologies will be an added advantage:

• Microsoft Azure Services (any)
• React + Redux or Angular
• Log Analysis Tools
