Description:
CTG is seeking to fill a Software Engineer - Backend position for our client.
Location: Remote
Duration: 12 months
Duties:
Design, develop, and maintain backend systems and APIs to support large-scale applications.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements, architecture, and technical specifications.
Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code using modern PHP frameworks.
Optimize and troubleshoot applications to ensure high performance and reliability.
Participate in all stages of the software development lifecycle including planning, coding, testing, and deployment.
Implement best practices for API design, data security, and system scalability.
Support and enhance existing services and systems, ensuring stability and continuous improvement.
Skills:
Strong proficiency in PHP 8.x frameworks (Laravel, Symfony).
Expertise in relational databases (MySQL/MariaDB, SQL Server, PostgreSQL).
Deep understanding of RESTful API design and integration.
Hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, ECS, RDS, Lambda, S3, SQS).
Experience with search technologies (Elasticsearch, OpenSearch, Solr).
Solid knowledge of software development lifecycle best practices, including testing and deployment.
Nice to Have Skills:
Experience with observability and APM tools (Sentry, Sumologic, Datadog, New Relic).
Familiarity with containerization and orchestration (Docker, GitLab, Terraform).
Knowledge of caching technologies (Redis, SingleStore, Memcached).
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control using Git.
Background in ETL pipeline development (Apache Airflow).
Understanding of security best practices for web applications and data protection.
Experience:
5+ years of professional backend development experience.
Proven ability to design, build, and deploy scalable backend systems.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $90,000 to $105,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and, where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained.
