Job Description

We are looking for a senior manager to lead the Network Reliability Engineering (NRE) team responsible for driving operational excellence within the OCI physical network. The role will lead a team of network engineers to support OCI's network operations. We need a strong leader to build and lead an engineering organization. The candidates applying for this role should be
passionate about operations and customer experience. Due to the nature of the space, this role involves duties covering the breadth of working day-to-day with network and software engineers to build and sustain services and tooling while also working with our partner teams to make it easy for them to manage the OCI network.
Preferred Requirements:
BS or MS in Computer Science, Network/Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience. 5+ years of experience in large-scale physical network support. 3+ years of experience in network engineering and operations management roles. Experience building scalable, cloud-native distributed systems. Ability to work in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment. Solid understanding of key networking technologies needed for the cloud including: network design and fabrics, networking protocols, network automation, network telemetry and common hardware platforms Ability to effectively communicate technical ideas verbally and in writing. Understand the end-to-end configuration, technical dependencies, and overall behavioral characteristics of production services. Experience with production operations and best practices for deploying code in production and troubleshooting issues when they arise.

Supports the design, deployment, and operations of a large-scale global Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). Primarily focused on the development and support of network fabric and systems through a combination of a deep-level understanding of networking at the protocol level coupled with programming skills. As OCI is a cloud-based network with a global footprint,
this support will include hundreds of thousands of network devices supporting millions of servers, connected over a mix of dedicated backbone
infrastructure, CLOS Network, and the Internet.
Responsibilities:
Own and develop highly available services. Lead operational development programs across the physical networking. Attract, develop & manage a team of highly skilled engineers. Define and develop roadmaps to deliver operational efficiencies. Develop, grow, and maintain data-driven metric programs that speak to both the operational and business status of the physical networking domain. Solve difficult problems in distributed systems, infrastructure, and highly available services. Collaborate with Network Engineering, Network Automation, Network Monitoring. Engineering organizations to deliver a highly available service to our customers. * Participate in on-call rotation for managers.
