Key job responsibilities
As an SDM, you'll collaborate with senior technical leaders to execute long-term architectural vision while balancing immediate business needs. You'll be responsible for developing engineering talent, driving technical excellence, and partnering with product teams to deliver organizational goals. You'll also work closely with Principal Engineers to shape technical direction and innovation strategies.
A day in the life
1. Lead daily stand-ups and team meetings to align priorities and remove blockers
2. Review system design proposals and provide architectural guidance to ensure scalable solutions
3. Partner with product managers to define technical roadmaps and delivery timelines
4. Conduct one-on-one meetings with team members for coaching and career development
5. Participate in operational reviews to ensure system reliability and performance
6. Engage with stakeholders to understand business needs and align technical solutions
7. Review and approve technical designs and implementation approaches
8. Monitor team health metrics and drive continuous improvement initiative
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
------------------------
3+ years of engineering team management experience
7+ years of engineering experience
8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
Experience partnering with product or program management teams
Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
