We are looking for an energetic, engaged and technically strong Manager of Software development to lead the engineering team for development of Oracle\'s Intelligent Operations, Analytics and Observability Platform. As one of the leaders of the service, you will be driving the ultimate success and adoption of the product. As Manager of Software Development, you will lead the engineering team and work with architects to identify and deliver new features and operate the service at massive scale. You should be a distributed systems generalist, able to architect broad systems interactions, while being very hands-on, able to dive deep into any part of the stack and lower level system interactions. You should value simplicity and scale, work comfortably in a collaborative, agile environment, and be excited to learn. Ensure appropriate operational planning is effectively executed to meet corporate specifications. Demonstrate leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development. Responsibilities: Candidate will be responsible for providing leadership, direction and strategy Establish and development the organization/team to meet and execute on strategy. Working with geographically distributed teams and contribute to the success of his/her and other related teams. Delivering large-scale features and projects on time with high quality. Guiding developers in day-to-day design and coding tasks, step into code as needed. Designing and implementing of new features and functionalities. Working closely with Product Managers, Architects, the Quality Assurance team, and other dependent teams. Creating a thriving, growing team i.e. regularly checking in with each direct report, annual reviews, promoting people up to their career ladder, fostering team goodness, recruiting and retaining top talent. Demonstrating effective leadership, motivating team, ensuring and enforcing the Scrum and Agile development. Managing engineering processes, product lifecycle, and release. Minimum Qualifications : 8 + years experience delivering and operating large scale, highly available distributed systems. Strong knowledge of Python, Java and working with micro-service development. Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms and distributed systems fundamentals. Working familiarity with databases and standard network architectures. Demonstrate success mentoring and growing junior engineers to senior levels. Excellent verbal and written skills Experienced in building multi-tenant, virtualized infrastructure a strong plus.
