About BD TCI BD, a 125-year-old global medical device company has started its Research and Development Organization in Bangalore India which is BD Technology Campus India (TCI). This R&D center will be an integral part of the global R&D, in design related activities and full product life cycle management. This R&D organization will have highly skilled associates in the field of engineering and science. Position Summary We are recruiting for a highly driven Software Manager with a passion for global product development to help design, architect, development and implement and testing of brand new solutions developed on Enterprise SW (Front end applications, backend services and database/datawarehouse technologies) on Android/Windows operating system and a proven track record of successfully translating product requirements to component and system level designs that meet the customer requirements. The successful candidate has a unique opportunity to join a high-caliber R&D team responsible for the cost-effective Design and Development of high growth products within BD Medication Delivery Solutions (MDS). Educational Background A 4-year engineering degree in relevant field is required (i.e. Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical discipline). An advanced degree is desired. Professional Experience 12+ years of Software product development or product life-cycle experience in Medical Device and/or pharmaceutical industries is required including idea generation, concept development/prove-out and subsequent productization. 2+ years of people leadership experience of teams ranging between 8-15 members, leading product development teams in a cross functional environment in medical devices, pharmaceuticals or life sciences is required. Job Responsibilities Along with Associate Director and in partnership with global R&D teams, (s)he will help in MDS operating mechanisms including supporting the growth strategy for the center, to deliver roadmap strategy, Annual Strategic Review (ASR) deck, budgetary planning and execution to meet technical and financial commitments. Provide tactical engineering leadership to a newly formed team in system design, design-decomposition, requirement to spec flow-down, verification strategy and DHF documentation Build, train, grown and nurture a world-class software engineering team consisting of SW development, Testing & DevOps engineers. Drive design decisions, process, and human factors considerations, that enable robust system architectures that are built upon deep subject matter expertise in key foundational technology domains. Contribution and execution of front-end strategies for product development, technology/product-concept feasibility, technology roadmap, concept-car demonstration. Support the Associate Director in defining the long-term vision and strategy for the BD Technology Campus India Center in the area of Software and collaborate with the Global R&D team, execute on a multi-year growth strategy. Progressively build on critical tools and processes to ensure that in the medium-term, the BD Technology Campus India Center is self-sufficient while maintaining global linkages to constantly learn and evolve. Foster and sustain a culture of collaboration, inclusiveness, curiosity and agility. Ensure in depth research and assessment of the industry landscape from IP, regulatory, products, technologies standpoint. Instill compliance to Design Control for medical devices and ensure compliance with all local, state, federal, international, and internal safety regulations, policies, and procedures. Knowledge and Skills Experiences with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Software Reliability, Software Risk classifications. Experience with managing teams delivering SW solutions in the below technologies: C#, .NET, Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript, SASS, HTML 5, CSS, T-SQL and SQL Database Experience in delivering Full Stack, Front end and Backend applications towards NPI programs especially in the Medical domain. Experience on Azure/AWS cloud development is an added advantage Code Quality practices, general awareness of Unit testing, Static Analysis, Code Coverage and Test Automation tools Proven ability to recruit, build talent and nurture teams through various milestones in a regulated environment to deliver designs on time, at cost and with quality is required. Ideally this experience would have been acquired in delivering high volume, disposable product environment. A deep understanding of software development in a team, and a track record of shipping software on time Prior successful experience in a global, matrix environment with experience in roadmap creation, multi-year product roadmap planning and budgetary responsibilities is required. Demonstrated ability to lead via influence, to motivate and nurture a team-spirit and to create a boundaryless team culture is required. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt style/tone/tenor to various levels of the organization is required. Able to create content and communicate successfully to multiple levels of the organization.
