Summary: We are seeking highly experienced Base Software Lead to architect and lead the development of Android Automotive OS (AAOS) base software for next-generation vehicle infotainment systems. The ideal candidate will drive platform integration, performance optimization, and compliance with automotive-grade standards across multiple vehicle programs. Roles & Responsibilities: Key Responsibilities: oLead the design, development, and integration of Android Automotive base software components including HALs, AOSP, and system services. oArchitecture, Design and Develop Android-based infotainment applications and frameworks. oOwn the Board Support Package (BSP), bootloader, kernel, and device driver stack for automotive hardware platforms. oCollaborate with hardware, UX, middleware, and application teams to ensure seamless system integration. oDrive compliance with automotive standards including ISO 26262, ASPICE, and cybersecurity (ISO 21434). oOptimize system performance, boot time, and resource utilization for infotainment ECUs. oManage OTA update mechanisms, diagnostics, and system logging. oInterface with silicon vendors, Tier-1 suppliers, and OEMs to align platform requirements. oMentor and guide a team of Android and embedded engineers across multiple vehicle programs. oOwn the AAOS base software roadmap and contribute to platform strategy. oWork closely with the requirements team, UX/UI designers, and embedded systems teams. oImplement in-vehicle infotainment user centric features utilizing VHAL functionalities. oCustomize Android framework for customized Infotainment platform oConduct testing and debugging of functionalities to ensure functionality and quality. oDiagnosing and troubleshooting system issues. oWork closely with cross-functional teams across globe Professional & Technical Skills: Technical Experience: oOverall, 12+ years of experience in Infotainment domain with experience in Android Development. oStrong experience in Android Automotive OS (AAOS), AOSP, and embedded Linux. oExpertise in HAL development, kernel customization, and low-level debugging. oFamiliarity with automotive hardware platforms (ARM, x86) and SoCs. oExperience with automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet). oKnowledge of secure boot, SELinux, OTA, and system diagnostics. oExcellent leadership, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills. oExperience in developing Android applications with AI functionalities oProficiency in Java and Kotlin, and familiarity with C++ for native components. oExperience in custom VHAL integration, enhancements. oExperience in one of the areas: Audio framework, video display, In cabin controls, navigation, playlist, voice, vehicle data monitoring oExcellent problem solving and debugging skills. oKnowledge in working with Infotainment setup. oKnowledge in cloud platform oStrong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a cross functional team oGood problem-solving and analytical skills. oExcellent communication and interpersonal skills.
