ABOUT THIS ROLE

Software Development Engineer working on enabling car buying experience in Amazon using cloud based micro-services architecture, comfortable with Amazon retail services, having extensive experience with new technologies powered by Amazon AWS.



ABOUT THE TEAM

We're on a journey to build Amazon Auto - a program to define car buying experience on Amazon! Come join our team and build new discovery and shopping products. We're looking for a talented and motivated Software Development Engineer to join our team of builders, product managers, designers, principals to design and build innovative auto-shopping experiences for our customers across the world.



This is a great opportunity for an experienced engineer to design and implement the technology for a new Amazon business which is flagship program for S-team. Desired candidate will design, implement and deliver innovative solutions end-end. You will contribute to culture of innovation, quality and customer obsession which is hallmark of Amazon.

As a SDE-2 in this team, you will...



Own key components within our platform. ""Owning"" means envisioning, designing, creating, building, and supporting

Design, develop and maintain our Android mobile applications

Work with team members to investigate design approaches, prototype technology and evaluate technical feasibility

Lead the way - ""Lead"" means staying up to date with tools, trends, technologies, and frameworks both industry-wide and within Amazon, and sharing that knowledge in a meaningful way with the community

Partner with product management to imagine, design, develop, test, and launch software that invigorates our community and inspires our peers

Manage individual project priorities, deadlines and deliverables

Adopt best practices in software engineering: design, testing, version control, documentation, build, deployment, and operations

Lead architecture and design of features, from conception to launch

Help to improve engineering processes and tools to increase team effectiveness

Be part of an agile development process to deliver high-quality software

Work with cross-functional, geographically diverse development teams through design, delivery and support

Awareness of Amazon Search backend services will be desirable

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Experience programming with at least one software programming language, or experience (non-internship) in professional software development

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience with distributed computing, programs and systems
