The Opportunity

The successful candidate will join a team of highly skilled reliability engineers responsible for adobe.com. We are diverse, upbeat, inclusive, and passionate about what we do! As a result of our efforts, we maintain 99.99% or higher uptime, and we are expected to continue maintaining that.

This engineer will administer and run Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) servers hosted in Amazon Web Services (AWS).

This person will also enjoy some responsibilities of both DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering in their day-to-day work as we transition to a new technology code-named Franklin with a new framework called Milo.

What you\'ll do

Our primary job is to keep AEM farms and other systems used behind adobe.com online and performant. We constantly improve the reliability and consistency of adobe.com.

Watch monitors and resolve issues as they arise

Proactively handle potential issues within AEM and on AWS instances

Assist Site Reliability Engineers (SRE) and Senior SREs as needed

Participate in critical issue analysis and resolution

Respond to support requests and trouble tickets raised by other team members

Maintain and audit existing documentation for accuracy

This role requires participation in a periodic 12-hour-limited on-call rotation.

Full remote work and skewed time schedules are both available options.

You\'ll also be able to

• Help test new tools and software which improve our operational stance
• Learn and use Ansible, CircleCI, Docker containers, Grafana, HAProxy, Icinga, New Relic, and Rundeck
• Document and publicize technical debt when found
• Automate repetitive or common processes that require human toil
• Use CI/CD processes
• Validate systems are always in sync with Adobe Security requirements and industry standards
• Learn DevOps and SRE concepts

• Experience with websites and virtual machines
• Knowing when to ask for help
• Desire to collaborate and work as part of a team to resolve problems
• Deep-seated desire to learn, grow, and document your work
• Time management and prioritization skills
• Good written and verbal communications skills

• Familiarity with AEM
• Experience with AWS/Azure/Google Cloud/VMware
• Experience with Amazon-, RedHat-, or Fedora-based Linux
• Deployment of Java/node.js applications
• Familiarity with DNS and TCP/IP concepts
• Basic understanding of automation using Ansible/Chef/Puppet/Saltstack
• Scripting skills in Bash/Python
