JOB TITLE HERE

THE ROLE:

AMD is hiring software engineers to join our Linux Open Source Graphics team in Bangalore, Karnataka location. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Open source GPU driver feature development based on Engineering and Marketing requirements.

THE PERSON:

The candidate must possess the ability to understand business needs, define the problem statement and possess good communication skills.

Multiple opportunities to collaborate and communicate effectively with teams from all around the globe.

You will work across software and hardware teams to define, plan and deliver on commitments.

Preferred Experience:

• Proficient in C and C++ programming
• Strong background in data structures, algorithms, and linear algebra (matrices, vectors, quaternions, etc.)
• Knowledge of internals of operating systems (process management, memory management, etc.)
• Experience with 3D graphics APIs such as OpenGL, OpenGL ES and Vulkan (Metal, Direct3D and WebGL are acceptable too)
• Experience with shader writing (e.g., GLSL, HLSL, OSL, etc.)
• Excellent debugging and trouble-shooting skills
• Experience with Linux tools (Bash, GCC, GDB, Git, Makefile)
• Experience with compiler development and optimizations for shaders with LLVM, NIR, etc.
• Knowledge of software engineering practices for the full software development life cycle

Desired Experience:

• Knowledge of GPU Wavefront architectures and ISA
• Ability to read and debug assembly code (e.g., RDNA, x86, ARM, etc.)
• Knowledge of game engine architecture (e.g., Event Loop, ECS, Materials, etc.)
• Prior experience of working on multithreaded programs and embedded applications
• Prior open-source contributions (e.g., Freedesktop.org, Linux Kernel)
• Knowledge of using design patterns for solving complex software design problems

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) with 2-4 years of experience, Master's degree with 0-2 years of experience
