: Software Engineer

Job Summary
The Software Engineer is responsible for developing, customizing, integrating, and maintaining hospital software systems including the Hospital Management Information System (HMIS), Electronic Medical Records (EMR), PACS, LIS, and other clinical/non-clinical applications. The role ensures smooth software operations, data integrity, and compliance with healthcare IT standards such as HL7, FHIR, and ABDM (Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission).
Key Responsibilities 1. Application Development & Customization
Design, develop, and maintain hospital-specific software modules and applications.
Customize and enhance existing HMIS/EMR/PACS/LIS functionalities based on user feedback and workflow requirements.
Integrate third-party APIs and systems (billing, pharmacy, lab, radiology, etc.).
2. System Integration & Interoperability
Work on HL7/FHIR-based integrations between HMIS, PACS, LIS, and other healthcare systems.
Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to ensure data interoperability and ABDM compliance.
Develop middleware or data interfaces where required.
3. Database Management
Design and optimize SQL databases for hospital applications.
Manage data backups, data migration, and performance tuning.
Ensure data security and compliance with hospital IT policies and healthcare regulations.
4. Support & Maintenance
Provide second-level support for hospital software issues raised by the IT Helpdesk.
Troubleshoot application errors and coordinate with vendors for escalations.
Conduct periodic system health checks and apply software patches or upgrades.
5. Documentation & Compliance
Maintain detailed technical documentation for all customizations and integrations.
Ensure all developments meet healthcare IT compliance standards (HL7, FHIR, ABDM, DISHA).
Key Skills and Competencies
knowledge of Windows OS, and MS Office suite.
Basic understanding of networking (LAN/WAN, IP addressing, switches, routers).
Understand and Trouble shoot hands on in crimping Network and telephone cables, connectors
Familiarity with HMIS, PACS, or HIS systems in a healthcare setup preferred.
Good analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Customer service orientation and ability to handle users patiently.
Good communication and coordination skills.
Qualifications and Experience
Education: Diploma / B.Sc. / BCA in Computer Science, IT, or related discipline.
Experience:2-3 years of experience in IT support, preferably in a hospital or healthcare environment.
Certifications (Preferred): CompTIA, A+, MCP, Networking.
Work Conditions
Rotational shifts, including weekends or emergency on-call duties.
