Your team:
The team manages the Payments application, focusing on deployment maturity, CI/CD automation, and testing uplift. We enable secure, reliable, and scalable releases while driving best practices across applications.
Your role in the Team's Success:
The role will drive the uplift of the Payments Gateway by implementing automated regression, acceptance, and security testing within the CI/CD pipeline. It will enable the shift from fragile gray deployments to reliable, rollback-ready releases. The engineer will build the system, enforce coverage, and integrate security checks. This reduces downtime risks, accelerates delivery, and ensures compliance. The role also strengthens team maturity by spreading knowledge and best practices, creating lasting impact across the organization.
What you'll need for this role:
Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust automated test scripts using Java + Selenium for web UI testing.
• Build and maintain API automation frameworks using REST Assured and Spring Boot.
• Collaborate with developers and product teams to understand requirements and define test strategies.
• Perform integration and end-to-end testing across frontend and backend components.
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for test automation using GitLab.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and identify root causes of automation or environment issues.
• Ensure test coverage, maintainability, and scalability of automation suites.
• Contribute to code reviews and continuous improvements in QA processes.
• (Optional but valuable) Use Playwright for modern web automation or cross-browser testing where applicable.
• Generate and maintain test reports and metrics using tools like Allure, Extent, or ReportPortal.

Required Skills & Experience

• 8 - 10 years of strong hands-on experience in Java (OOPs concepts, Collections, Streams).
• Expertise in Selenium WebDriver, TestNG/JUnit, and Page Object Model (POM) frameworks.
• Proven experience in API testing and automation using REST Assured.
• Practical knowledge of Spring Boot for backend testing or service stubbing/mocking.
• Experience with Git/GitLab for version control and CI/CD pipeline setup.
• Solid understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Experience with Maven/Gradle, Jenkins, or similar build tools.
• Strong analytical and debugging skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Good to Have / Nice to Have

• Experience with Playwright or Playwright with TypeScript/Java for advanced browser automation.
• Knowledge of Docker and containerized test execution.
• Experience with cloud-based testing platforms (BrowserStack, Sauce Labs, etc.).
• Exposure to performance testing (e.g., JMeter, Gatling).
• Basic understanding of database validation using SQL.
