Job Description

Worker Sub-Type: Regular : At BlackBerry Limited, customer experience is at the forefront of everything we do. To help us build functional systems that improve customer experience we are now looking for an experienced Build Systems Engineer. They will be responsible for building pipelines, identifying issues, and implementing integrations that meet our development teams needs. Objectives of this Role

• Building and setting up new development tools and infrastructure
• Working with developers to implement new pipelines and infrastucture
• Working on ways to automate and improve development and release processes
• Testing and examining code written by others and analyzing results
• Ensuring that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats
• Identifying build problems and developing software updates and ‘fixes’
• Working with software developers and software engineers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended
• Planning out projects and being involved in project management decisions

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities

• Deploy updates and fixes to development pipelines
• Build tools to reduce occurrences of errors and improve customer experience
• Develop software to integrate with internal back-end systems
• Perform root cause analysis for build and pipeline errors
• Investigate and resolve technical issues
• Develop scripts to automate software configuration management
• Design procedures for system troubleshooting and maintenance

Skills and Qualifications

• BSc in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field
• 1-3 years of experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar software engineering role
• Competence in high level languages such as Java, C++, Groovy
• Familiarity with build orchestration tools such as maven, gradle, cmake
• Experienced with git and git workflow such as gerrit, bitbucket, or gitlab.
• Experience with Jenkins or Gitlab as build/pipeline scheduling tools
• Understanding of DevOps practices and familiarity with some or all of
  • AWS
  • Kubernetes
  • Terraform
  • Docker
• Experience with Android development and the android emulator
• Experience with iOS development, and managing provisioning and certificates for iOS applications
• Familiarity with Puppet, Chef, or Ansible
• Familiar with networking and certificate management
• Experience with Agile methodologies
• Database experience, able to work with SQL based tools
• Understanding of static analysis and security tools to support application development
• Systems administration experience for Mac/Linux/Windows systems
• Problem-solving attitude
• Collaborative team spirit
• Able to work 5-8 PM IST
