Position Title: Software Architect Position Description: Trek Bicycle is looking for a software architect who has experience working with Java applications. This person will work with a team of software engineers, and be responsible for application architecture, code quality, and software development and deployment processes. In addition to those items, the candidate should have experience working with business stakeholders, Analysts, and Project Managers to identify and implement technical solutions for business needs. Trek IT believes in crafted software, end-to-end ownership of products, and fast iterations, and provides a flexible work environment, remote work is available, but some travel may be required for this position. Our approach to software development is to use the best tool for the job, often taking advantage of the latest technology to solve complex problems. Position Responsibilities: Drives tactical delivery for Digital Services. Work with business partners, architects, and other groups to identify the technical and functional needs of systems and determine the priority of needs. Ensure adherence to defined development life cycle, good software design practices, and Architecture strategy and intent. Coordinate coding, testing, implementation, and documentation of solutions. Responsible for key system design and integration decisions; and for communicating decisions to individuals implementing the system Demonstrate strong interpersonal, relationship-building/relationship management, and facilitation skills Cross-team collaboration to ensure projects run smoothly and efficiently. Apply a consultative approach to assist with functional planning and design, and operational procedural planning and design when implementing new systems and/or product enhancements. Guide team development efforts towards successful project delivery. Communicates the status of activities with the team, peers, and management. Owner of reviewing requirements, architecture, and design components of ongoing and upcoming projects. Position Requirements: BA in IT, Computer Science, or related field OR equivalent work experience. 5+ years of software development experience, including several of - Java/Hybris and Spring MVC, .NET, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, JSON/XML, and Webservices. Experience with object, service, and event-oriented architectures and techniques: Automation with Jenkins, Chef, Docker, ANT, or Gradle. Experience working with Hybris. Experience working with Microsoft Azure or other cloud-based hosting platforms. Skills and knowledge in a wide range of technologies, including Web Services, XML, AJAX, jQuery, SQL Server, and Microsoft SharePoint. Ability to develop and organize high-quality documentation.
