Job Summary



Software & Application manager responsible to lead the design, development, and operational management of front office trade booking platform. Strong technical acumen, people management capabilities, and end-to-end ownership of application. Collaborate with senior stakeholders to ensure design and architecture alignment, drive platform resilience and innovation and lead a high performing team within regulated business critical domain. Collaborate with business and product owners for project forecasting and planning, overseeing platform integration and aligning with strategic tech stacks. The role involves active collaboration with cross-functional teams, including Architects, Security leaders, and stakeholders, to deliver scalable, secure, performance and innovative technology solutions.

Business


Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirement, translate them into technical designs and deliver fit-for-purpose solutions. Drive delivery of platform enhancements, regulatory compliance, and automation to meet business KPIs. Responsible to drive end-to-end delivery of change projects with Agile delivery methodology. Work with stakeholders to develop innovative solutions underpinned by excellent tech which automates processes enabling volumes to be scaled up with ease. Lead and drive change management, able to take calculated risks and seeks continuous improvement. Effectively manage, collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate, and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters. Embed the highest standards of Group ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.

Processes


Lead full application lifecycle including development, testing, release, monitoring, and support. Implement and refine CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps Simplify current code and onboard latest tech stack Ensure production readiness, issue response, and RCA tracking for application Maintain documentation, runbook, and architectural diagram for key system Review penetration & performance test, restoration, DR & BCP plans with prod support and quality assurance teams. Design and present architecture flows and get security and compliance approvals for enhancements and new project from global architect team. Continuously improve processes by identifying inefficiencies, recommending enhancements, and implementing mechanisms for proactive issue resolution

People & Talent


Lead by example and build the appropriate culture and values. Mange and mentor team of engineers, drive performance, technical upskilling, cross-skilling, and career growth Drive recruitment, mentoring, and cross-team collaboration. Foster a culture of innovation, ownership, and continuous improvement.

Risk Management



Proactively manages project or initiative risks and looks for mitigating solutions or escalates as required.

Governance


Ensure solutions meet IT risk, audit, and compliance standards Ensure cyber security guidelines are followed and any vulnerabilities are remediated proactively. Engage teams and cascade necessary updates to required Delegates. Liaise with the various stakeholders for status updates and determine milestones and agree on plan of action

Qualifications



Bachelor's degree in computer science and engineerin
18 years of experience in designing and developing front office global real-time technology applications. Expert in C++, Python, Java, Data Structures & Algorithms, Object Oriented Designs, Unix, Perl/Shell Scripting Deep understanding of database management systems, Oracle & Postgres Hands-on with Azure DevOps, CI/CD, and test automation pipelines Strong coding, debugging, profiling, testing and documentation skills Technical Architect with proven records of owning end-to-end project delivery lifecycle. Dev chapter lead performing code reviews, scope definition, solution design, impact analysis, root cause analysis, performance tuning. Application owner managing IT risks, Audits, Cybersecurity, Vulnerability, Obsolescence, Capacity Planning, L3 support, production stability. Squad Lead, expert in Agile methodologies, scrum of scrum, backlog prioritization, sprint planning, effort estimation, delivery planning and retrospectives. Vendor management skills and toolkit-based development experience Engage in requirements discussion, design, development, UAT, release, monitoring, and support. Adept at translating business needs into clear, testable requirements and leading rollout activities including UAT, UVT, and post go-live support. Experience with modern monitoring/observability tools Grafana, ELK, Prometheus Proficient in Data Science & Machine Learning, Gen-AI APIs Business knowledge of Securities finance, trade lifecycle management, settlement processing, reporting and recon, understanding of regulatory frameworks (e.g. SFTR, CSDR) Expertise in FIX, JSON, SWIFT and Financial Market data integration with Bloomberg, Reuters APIs
Extensive experience in People management across geographies, hiring, mentoring, training, cross-skilling engineers. International exposure and excellent spoken and written English adept in communicating with senior and global stakeholders. Excellent stakeholder management and collaboration across lines of business and technology Ability to own delivering outcomes across a very vast and complex range of platform and product teams, including working with multiple cross-functional teams - infra, ICS, PSS Highly disciplined and structured with an outcome oriented and logical mindset and approach Able to work independently and also as part of a team

Strong analytical skills, interpersonal and communication skills. Able to deal with ambiguity and communicate accordingly to a senior audience
