Job Summary:
The Socio-Economic Study Officer assists in the preparation of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) by conducting social and economic data collection in project areas. The role focuses on engaging with local communities through focus group discussions (FGDs) and surveys to gather information on livelihoods, income, social conditions, and community concerns.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct focus group discussions (FGDs) and community interviews in project areas.
Collect and record socio-economic data using survey forms and questionnaires.
Support the identification of potential social and economic impacts of proposed projects.
Assist in preparing baseline socio-economic profiles for EIA reports.
Coordinate with local stakeholders and ensure data is collected ethically and accurately.
Provide inputs for mitigation measures and community development recommendations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Social Science, Development Studies, Economics, or related field.
Experience in field data collection and community engagement.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in rural or remote areas.
