Job Title:

Shelter Social Worker

:

A Shelter Social Worker provides

support, guidance, and resources

to individuals or families residing in a shelter. Their main goal is to help clients

achieve stability, independence, and well-being

.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Assessment:

Evaluate clients' needs, strengths, and challenges through interviews and assessments.

Case Management:

Develop and implement individualized care plans, track progress, and coordinate services.

Counseling & Support:

Provide emotional support, crisis intervention, and counseling to clients facing homelessness, abuse, or trauma.

Resource Coordination:

Connect clients with housing, employment, education, medical, and legal services.

Advocacy:

Advocate for clients' rights and needs with external agencies and community organizations.

Documentation & Reporting:

Maintain accurate records of client interactions, progress, and service outcomes.

Collaboration:

Work closely with shelter staff, volunteers, and community partners to ensure holistic support.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in

Social Work (BSW/MSW)

or related field.

Minimum 2 years of relevant experience

in social work, counseling, or shelter services. Strong

communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills

. Knowledge of

community resources, mental health, and social welfare policies

. Ability to handle

crisis situations

with empathy and professionalism.
