About the internship

Selected intern\'s day-to-day responsibilities include:

1. Calling & meeting school management for old book donation
2. Participating in brainstorming to kick start the free library & kids activity center

Perks:

1. Provide covered space of about 1200 sqft for the library with necessary shelves for keeping books, furniture, and other infrastructure
2. An open gym for use by visitors
3. Use of activity center
4. Space for additional activities like storytelling, discussions on books
5. Expenses for petrol or travel will be paid extra

Additional Information:

An activity center where village children are engaged in various activities like making puzzles, candles, and pottery, besides playing games and learning basic computer operations. The activity center\'s functioning stopped due to Covid-19 restrictions, and we now plan to revive the activities as soon as possible. The area around Nanda ki Chowki is a hub of educational institutions. There are four universities, more than twenty colleges, and schools where more than 90000 students live in hostels and PG accommodations.

There is not even one library in the entire area (other than within the campuses) where the students have the facility to study books of their choice. We need to do better in our responsibility. The children are hooked to the internet, and as a result, serious reading and learning are lacking.
