High School Social Studies Teacher

Position Overview:

We are looking for a dedicated and passionate

High School Social Studies Teacher

to join our academic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing engaging lessons that promote critical thinking, civic awareness, and an understanding of historical and cultural perspectives. The teacher will foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports all learners in achieving academic success.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional lessons aligned with district and state curriculum standards. Design and implement assessments to evaluate student progress and adjust instruction accordingly. Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and technologies to engage diverse learners. Promote critical analysis of historical events, social issues, and current affairs. Maintain accurate and timely records of student attendance, grades, and performance. Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and parents to support student achievement. Participate in faculty meetings, professional development sessions, and school events. Support extracurricular or enrichment activities related to social studies (e.g., debate team, history club, student government).

Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Education, History, Political Science, Geography, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).

Experience:

Previous high school teaching experience is required.

Skills and Competencies:

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong classroom management and organizational abilities. Ability to integrate technology and current events into instruction. Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Work Schedule:

Full-time; follows the academic calendar. Occasional evenings or weekends for school events or professional development.
