Job Description

The Social Studies Teacher (TGT) will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction across all Social Science subjects in a day-cum-boarding environment at Dunes Academy, a school affiliated with the CBSE Board up to Class 12. The teacher must ensure that students gain a clear understanding of theoretical concepts as well as their practical and real-world applications. The role involves preparing structured lesson plans, designing assessments, maintaining academic records, and ensuring active participation from students in every session.
The teacher is expected to implement effective teaching methodologies, integrate interactive activities, and utilize age-appropriate learning materials suitable for a CBSE-affiliated institution. Additional duties include supervising student projects, supporting the examination process, contributing to school events, and collaborating with academic coordinators to strengthen the curriculum.
Maintaining discipline, fostering student engagement, and creating a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere are essential responsibilities. The teacher must encourage curiosity, cultural awareness, and civic understanding among learners. Regular communication with parents--both day scholars and boarders' guardians--participation in school improvement initiatives, and adherence to professional ethics form an important part of this role.
Requirements
A Graduate or Postgraduate degree in the relevant subjects with a B.Ed. is mandatory. Prior experience at the TGT level is preferred. The candidate must demonstrate strong communication skills, solid subject knowledge, and effective classroom management abilities. The role requires teaching students from Classes 6 to 10, maintaining academic quality and discipline. Adaptability, professionalism, and a commitment to student growth are essential.
