Core Responsibilities
The role involves architecting and implementing comprehensive ETL/ELT pipelines that integrate data from SAP SuccessFactors and other HR systems into the Snowflake data warehouse. This includes handling complex data transformations, managing incremental data loads, and ensuring data consistency across multiple source systems.
Responsibility extends to designing scalable data architecture that can accommodate Nova Nordisk's global operations and future growth. This includes implementing proper data modeling techniques, establishing efficient storage strategies, and optimizing Snowflake warehouse configurations for performance and cost effectiveness.
Implementing robust data governance frameworks ensures compliance with global privacy regulations and maintains data security standards. This involves establishing access controls, implementing data lineage tracking, and creating audit trails for sensitive HR information.
Continuous improvement of system performance through query optimization, warehouse tuning, and automated monitoring solutions. The engineer will develop automated workflows that reduce manual intervention and improve overall system reliability.
Required Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related technical discipline provides the necessary technical foundation. Additional certifications in cloud platforms or data engineering enhance candidacy.
Candidates require 2-6 years of hands-on experience in data engineering with specific focus on building and managing enterprise data platforms. Deep expertise in Snowflake administration, data modeling, and performance tuning is essential.
Proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language such as Python, Java, or Scala enables effective pipeline development and automation. Experience with ETL/ELT tools like Airflow, or similar frameworks is highly valuable.
Understanding of HR data structures and integration patterns, particularly with SAP SuccessFactors, significantly enhances effectiveness. Knowledge of employment data privacy requirements and compliance considerations is important for this role.
Strong analytical problem-solving abilities enable independent troubleshooting and optimization of complex data systems. Collaborative skills facilitate effective teamwork with data scientists, analysts, and HR stakeholders across the global organization.
