Core Responsibilities
The role involves designing and developing scalable data models within the Snowflake environment to support complex HR analytics requirements. This includes creating dimensional models for workforce analytics, compensation analysis, and performance metrics that can accommodate Nova Nordisk's global scale and diverse organizational structure.
Advanced SQL expertise is essential for writing and optimizing complex queries that process large volumes of HR data from multiple sources. The engineer will develop efficient query patterns for recurring reports, implement performance tuning strategies, and ensure optimal resource utilization within the Snowflake environment.
Collaboration with HR stakeholders requires translating business requirements into technical solutions, developing interactive dashboards using tools like Tableau or Power BI, and creating self-service analytics capabilities that empower HR professionals to access and analyze data independently.
Ensuring data integrity across HR systems involve implementing data validation procedures, establishing monitoring protocols for data quality issues, and maintaining compliance with employment data privacy regulations across different jurisdictions where Nova Nordisk operates.
Required Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related technical field provides the foundational knowledge necessary for this role. Advanced degrees or relevant certifications in data analytics or business intelligence are advantageous.
Candidates must demonstrate years of experience in data engineering or analytics roles, with specific expertise in Snowflake architecture, features, and best practices. Expert-level SQL skills are mandatory, including 4-7 years of experience with window functions, complex joins, and query optimization techniques.
Familiarity with HR data structures and business processes enhances effectiveness in this role. Experience with SAP SuccessFactors or similar enterprise HR systems is highly valued, as is understanding of workforce analytics concepts and HR key performance indicators.
Strong analytical thinking capabilities enable translation of complex business requirements into technical solutions.
