Roles Definition: EDW (snowflake) Roles & Responsibilities


EDW


5+ years of experience in data engineering, data warehousing, or related fields.


3+ years of hands-on experience with Snowflake, including designing and implementing EDW solutions.


2+ years in a lead or senior developer role, managing data engineering projects


Strong proficiency in SQL for querying, data modeling, and performance optimization.


Familiarity with Azure cloud data platform and integration with Snowflake.


Expertise in Snowflakes core features, including SnowSQL, Snowpipe, Streams, Tasks, and virtual warehouses


Knowledge of data modeling techniques (snowflake schema, dimensional modeling).


Experience with scripting languages like Python, Scala, or Java for data processing (preferred for Snowpark)


Familiarity with BI tools like Power BI, Tableau for downstream reporting integration.


Strong verbal and written communications skills are a must, as well as the ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations and virtual teams.


Knowledge of cloud security controls including tenant isolation, encryption at rest, encryption in transit, key management, vulnerability assessments, application firewalls, SIEM, etc


Experience with large-scale data integration, ETL/ELT processes, and enterprise data environments.
