Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Snowflake Platform Administrator responsible for end-to-end administration, operations, and support (L1 L4) of our enterprise Snowflake Data Cloud environment. The role requires strong hands-on expertise in Snowflake configuration, performance tuning, security, monitoring, and issue resolution. The administrator will ensure platform reliability, availability, scalability, security, and cost efficiency while supporting cross-functional engineering and analytics teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Snowflake Platform Administration
Administer Snowflake accounts, warehouses, databases, schemas, roles, RBAC, resource monitors, and storage/compute configurations.
Manage warehouse sizing, auto-suspend/resume, clustering, and performance optimization.
Implement and enforce Snowflake data governance, retention policies, and lifecycle management.
Monitoring, Operations & Troubleshooting
Provide L1 L4 support for Snowflake incidents, service requests, performance issues, and outages.
Monitor Snowflake system health, warehouse utilization, failed jobs, and overall query performance.
Perform deep-dive troubleshooting using Snowflake Query Profile, Access History, Information Schema, and Account Usage views.
Drive RCA documentation, incident resolution, and preventive actions.
Security, Compliance & Access Management
Manage RBAC, role hierarchy, permissions, and integration with enterprise IAM.
Implement and maintain data masking, row-level security, network policies, and secure data sharing.
Ensure auditability, compliance, and adherence to internal and external governance standards.
Cost Optimization & Performance Management
Monitor storage and compute consumption; recommend warehouse tuning and pruning strategies.
Identify inefficient queries, pipeline patterns, and storage hotspots to optimize cost and performance.
Configure resource monitors and usage alerts for proactive cost control.
Integration & Environment Support
Support integrations between Snowflake and upstream/downstream systems (AWS S3, Kafka, JDBC/ODBC, BI tools like Tableau/Power BI).
Assist data engineering teams in improving ELT/ETL processes and query patterns.
Support Processes & Collaboration
Act as the primary platform contact for Snowflake issues across L1 L4 support tiers.
Work closely with Data Engineering, DevOps, and Analytics teams for enhancements, releases, and optimization tasks.
Participate in Agile ceremonies and maintain operational hygiene through Jira, Git, ServiceNow.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's/Master's in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
5+ years of hands-on Snowflake administration in enterprise environments.
Strong expertise in Snowflake performance tuning, RBAC, warehouse management, and cost
