is responsible for supervising and coordinating on-site construction activities to ensure work is executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and project schedules. The role requires strong technical knowledge, leadership skills, and hands-on experience to manage labor, materials, and daily site operations.
Key Responsibilities
Site Supervision & Execution
Supervise day-to-day construction activities and ensure work is carried out as per drawings, specifications, and method statements.
Allocate tasks to workers and subcontractors based on skill levels and daily targets.
Monitor productivity, workmanship quality, and adherence to project timelines.
Technical & Trade Expertise
Provide hands-on guidance and technical support to workers in relevant trades (civil, finishing, or MEP as applicable).
Interpret drawings and coordinate work sequences to avoid rework and delays.
Ensure correct usage of tools, equipment, and construction methods.
Quality Control
Ensure workmanship meets quality standards and approved inspection requirements.
Conduct first-level inspections before consultant/client inspections.
Identify defects, rectify issues, and support closure of snag lists.
Safety & Compliance
Enforce site safety rules and safe work practices at all times.
Conduct daily toolbox talks and ensure proper use of PPE.
Report unsafe conditions, incidents, and near misses to site management.
Material & Resource Management
Coordinate material requirements and ensure proper handling and storage on site.
Minimize wastage and control material consumption.
Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
Coordination & Reporting
Coordinate with Site Engineers, Supervisors, and subcontractors.
Maintain daily work records, manpower attendance, and progress reports.
Support project handover activities and final site clean-up.
Qualifications & Experience
Diploma / ITI / Trade Certificate in Civil, Carpentry, Masonry, Steel, or relevant construction trade.
5-10 years
of hands-on experience as a Skilled Foreman or Senior Tradesman on construction sites.
Strong understanding of construction drawings, methods, and site coordination.
Experience in residential, commercial, or infrastructure projects (preferred).
Skills & Competencies
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Practical problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Good communication skills (basic English required; Hindi/Arabic is an advantage).
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
High level of discipline, safety awareness, and accountability.
