An Illustration Sketch Artist translates verbal ideas, concepts, or narratives into expressive and detailed visual sketches. You'll often work across fields such as publishing, animation, concept art, advertising, fashion, entertainment

Key Responsibilities

Meet with clients, directors, art directors, or project leads to discuss project vision, requirements, and style. Produce initial concept sketches (rough drafts) and iterate based on feedback. Create polished sketches using traditional media (e.g. pencil, ink, charcoal) and digital tools (e.g. Photoshop, Illustrator, Procreate). Ensure accurate proportions, perspective, and visual appeal, applying strong observational skills and anatomy knowledge. Revise sketches in response to stakeholder feedback and maintain alignment with creative direction. Collaborate with team members such as designers, illustrators, writers, or art directors throughout the creative process. Deliver on tight deadlines without compromising quality Maintain a diverse portfolio demonstrating sketching proficiency across styles and media. Stay current with sketching techniques, digital trends, and industry tools.

Preferred Qualifications

Degree or diploma in Fine Arts, Illustration, Visual Arts, or equivalent experience. Strong portfolio or demonstration of sketch and illustration skills across multiple subjects and styles. Proficient with both traditional media (pencils, charcoal, ink) and digital platforms (Photoshop, Illustrator, CAD if applicable). Excellent attention to detail, visual composition, and aesthetic sensibility. Strong communication skills to interpret briefs and integrate feedback. Adaptability to different styles--such as concept art, character sketches, fashion silhouettes, or technical drawings. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in fast?paced, iterative environments.
