Main task of position:

• Sizing:
• Pre-order:
• Support to Sales for enquiries Sizing (Selection) of the compressors by performing the thermodynamic calculations; stretch to deliver on-time, the most optimum economical and accurate (with Zero error) solution meeting customer specification
• Support to Customer Support Service team to check suitability of the original compressor for the revamp job specification; recommend most economical solution to suit Client needs
• Post-order: Detail review of all the customer specification and regularize sizing within organisation; identify the deviations (if any) & the scope of deliverables, Co-ordinate with Project Manager to conclude open issues and release the sizing reports like, Valve dynamic analysis, actuator spring sizing etc. as per schedule
• Resolve open issues related to sizing with Client, in co-ordination with Project manager & other stakeholders
• Special Studies:
• Perform Pulsation & Vibration analysis as per API 618 and Client specification
• Provide technical support & advise to internal and external customers for problems with acoustics and vibration of Compressors during its runtime; determine economical solutions in line with the agreed budget, quality and deadlines in close collaboration with CAD plant construction and engineering team. This includes subcontracting of studies and evaluation of results.
• Perform Thermal analysis of the piping system as per Client specification and provide feasible solution to limit stress; This involves subcontracting of study to vendor and its evaluation
• Preliminary selection of the coupling and performing Torsional Analysis to confirm the drive train suitability in consultation with CAD plant engineering
• Perform other mechanical calculations in general mechanical engineering, e. g. component strength etc.
• Support for resolution of field complaints including visit to sites, if necessary
• Present and share learnings within team to enhance the competency of others
• Maintain documentation towards sizing & studies.
• Interact / co-ordinate with Principal in Switzerland
• Maintain & adhere IMS (QMS + EMS) procedures
• Prepare monthly MIS

• BE / B.Tech with Mechanical Engineering
• Familiar with International standard like API, ASME, ASTM, DIN etc.
• Fundamental knowledge of compressors, thermodynamics, sizing of compressors.
• Thermal Analysis using CAESAR -II, ROHR2
• Knowledge of FEA analysis software (ANSYS etc.) will be an added advantage
• Knowledge of pulsation analysis will be an added advantage
• MS Office
