The Site Supervisor (or Site Coordinator) is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations at construction or project sites to ensure work is carried out safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. This role acts as the key point of contact between contractors, subcontractors, site workers, and project managers.
Key Responsibilities:
On-site Supervision:
Monitor and coordinate construction activities and workforce to ensure efficient site operations.
Project Coordination:
Liaise between various project stakeholders including engineers, architects, subcontractors, suppliers, and the client.
Health & Safety Compliance:
Enforce safety regulations and protocols on-site to maintain a safe working environment.
Scheduling & Planning:
Assist in developing and maintaining project schedules, ensuring that milestones and deadlines are met.
Quality Assurance:
Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with project specifications, drawings, and quality standards.
Resource Management:
Supervise the delivery and use of materials, tools, and equipment; manage manpower allocation effectively.
Reporting:
Maintain daily reports, progress updates, and site logs; escalate issues to project managers as needed.
Problem Solving:
Quickly address any issues or delays that arise on-site, coordinating solutions with relevant parties.
Qualifications & Skills:
Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
Proven experience in site supervision or construction coordination
Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
Proficient in using project management and scheduling tools
Strong problem-solving and organizational abilities
