Job Title:
Site Solar Supervisor
Location:
Gujarat (various project sites) - travel required; occasional relocation depending on project.
Reports To:
Project Manager / Site In-Charge
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and monitor daily operations on site for solar power projects (ground-mounted / rooftop / utility scale), ensuring work is carried out as per project plans, specifications, safety & quality standards.
Coordinate civil, mechanical and electrical works: module mounting, inverter installations, wiring, switchgear, cabling, earthing etc.
Ensure compliance with drawings, technical documentation, layout plans and electrical schematics.
Oversee subcontractors and labor teams: assign tasks, monitor productivity, quality, attendance, safety.
Manage procurement and availability of materials, tools and equipment needed for onsite works.
Maintain progress reports, logs, site documentation (daily reports, safety checks, quality inspections).
Identify, report and resolve issues or delays; coordinate with engineers & project management to find practical solutions.
Ensure safety protocols are strictly followed; conduct site safety inspections; ensure housekeeping, environmental, and regulatory compliance.
Assist in commissioning, testing and handover of the solar plant / system.
Monitor performance during initial run (if applicable) and ensure that all parameters meet performance guarantees/specifications.
Provide training or coaching to junior staff / technicians as required.
Qualifications:
Diploma / ITI (Electrical / Mechanical / Electrical & Electronics) minimum. B.E. / B.Tech (Electrical / Mechanical) preferred.
2-5 years of experience in solar project installation and supervision (or similar roles). If large / utility-scale projects, higher experience may be required.
Good understanding of solar PV systems: modules, inverters, mounting structures, cabling, earthing, switchgear etc.
Knowledge of civil works associated with solar: foundations, trenching, road works etc.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, layout and electrical schematics.
Strong organizational skills, ability to coordinate multiple teams, good communication skills.
Problem-solving mindset; able to make quick decisions onsite.
Must be safety conscious; knowledge of safety regulations, worksite safety best practices.
Willingness to travel to remote sites; stay onsite as required.
(Optional but useful) Computer skills: MS Office, basic project reporting tools; possibly experience with monitoring / SCADA etc.
