Summary of Responsibility
As an Operations Engineer part of the SRO team, you will be a key member of the team responsible for the day-to-day monitoring, maintenance, and support of our infrastructure and deployed products. You will work in close collaboration with SRE engineers to implement operational best practices, troubleshoot issues, and ensure the stability and performance of our products and systems running on both Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This role requires a strong understanding of operational processes, cloud environments, and effective communication with technical teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor system performance, availability, and alerts across AWS and GCP using established monitoring tools.
Respond to incidents and alerts, perform initial troubleshooting, and escalate issues to SRE engineers and other technical teams as needed.
Execute routine maintenance tasks, including patching, updates, and backups, in accordance with operational procedures. Prepare reports and provide updates to tickets.
Respond to escalations and requests from support team, product development, and professional service within different geographic locations and time zones.
Support the deployment of new applications and infrastructure components by following documented procedures and working with SRE engineers.
Maintain and update operational documentation, runbooks, and knowledge base articles.
Collaborate with SRE engineers to identify opportunities for operational improvements, automation, and efficiency gains.
Assist in managing and optimizing cloud costs and resource utilization from an operational perspective.
Ensure adherence to security policies and procedures in all operational activities.
Provide feedback to SRE teams on the operational challenges and requirements of the multi-cloud environment.
Ability to work Monday through Friday in a 24/5 shift environment.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
Minimum
2 years experience
in an operations role supporting production systems.
Familiarity with cloud platforms, specifically AWS and GCP.
Experience with observability, monitoring and alerting tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, NewRelic).
Understanding of basic networking concepts in cloud environments.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve basic technical issues.
Experience with executing documented operational procedures. Attention to details.
Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams is essential.
Strong verbal English skills are mandatory.
Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes in a multi-cloud environment.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications:
Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, Google Cloud Professional Cloud Administrator).
Experience with scripting languages for automation of operational tasks.
Familiarity with ITIL or other operational frameworks.
Experience working in an Agile development environment.
