Job Description




Objectives of this Role * Run the production environment by monitoring availability and taking a holistic view of system health

  • Build software and systems to manage platform infrastructure and applications
  • Improve reliability, quality, and time-to-market of our suite of software solutions
  • Measure and optimize system performance, with an eye toward pushing our capabilities forward, getting ahead of customer needs, and innovating to continually improve
  • Provide primary operational support and engineering for multiple large distributed software applications
  • Willingness to work in rotational shifts.
  • Work schedule will be such that both week-offs will be over the weekend or at least one week-off over the weekend
  • This position includes hours outside the established work schedule as needed and requires being part of an on-call rotation including weekends.
Responsibilities * Gather and analyze metrics from both operating systems and applications to assist in performance tuning and fault finding
  • Fixing support escalation issues
  • Partner with development teams to improve services through rigorous testing and release procedures
  • Participate in system design consulting, platform management, and capacity planning
  • Create sustainable systems and services through automation and uplifts
  • Building software to help operations and support teams
  • Balance feature development speed and reliability with well-defined service level objectives
  • Documenting \xe2\x80\x9ctribal\xe2\x80\x9d knowledge. Constant upkeep of documentation and runbooks can ensure that teams get the information they need right when they need it
  • Conducting post-incident review
Required Skills and Qualifications * \xe2\x80\xa2 At least 1 - 3 years of software configuration management experience. .
  • Experience in working on software configuration management of enterprise applications developed using object-oriented and distributed Internet technologies (Java, C++, C#, .NET, J2EE, web services, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge and/or experience with software configuration management tools (ADo,Github) and techniques used in automated solutions (MSBuild, Ant, perl scripts,etc.).
  • Professionals skilled in CI/CD,Github, ADO, AWS Cloud,Cloudformation,Jenkins,Kubernetes,Ansible, Docker and Datadog
  • Strong bias for action and passion for taking initiative, accepting personal responsibility to deliver on commitments, having courage to raise issues, and proactively working to resolve issues and remove barriers in a timely manner.
  • Sound knowledge of Linux and Shell scripts and Python, Perl, Powershell scripting.
  • Knowledge of Application servers(Websphere) and webserver(Tomcat)
  • Execute the day to day build/deploy requests as per the request from the Dev team or Release Management team
  • Partner with software development teams and other organizations to ensure their needs are being met and that our services are adding value.
  • Research and implement new, innovative ways of providing quality SCM services.
  • Willingness to work in shifts.
