NetApp is seeking a Senior TechOps Engineer to join our expanding Instaclustr team in India.
Instaclustr, a NetApp offering, delivers open-source technologies as a managed service, ensuring reliability at scale. We manage cutting-edge solutions such as Cassandra, Kafka, PostgreSQL, Redis/Valkey, OpenSearch, ClickHouse, and Cadence for customers worldwide.Our platform simplifies the entire lifecycle, provisioning infrastructure, installing applications, and most importantly, ensuring these applications run reliably in production. Since its inception in 2013, Instaclustr has grown rapidly, serving 300+ customers globally and managing 18,000+ nodes.As a Technical Operations Engineer, you'll be part of the frontline team responsible for keeping our large fleet of cloud-hosted, open-source clusters secure, reliable, and high-performing. You'll collaborate with technical teams from globally recognized organizations in industries such as gaming, banking, and logistics--ranging from multinational enterprises to fast-growing startups.
Job Requirements

Strong experience in Cassandra administration and architecture, with a desire to grow to expert level.Ability to diagnose and recommend mitigation strategies for Cassandra issues such as:
Performance degradation due to resource bottlenecks.
Suboptimal data modeling causing hot partitions.
Excessive tombstones and inefficient queries.
Hands-on experience with Cassandra core administrative tasks:
Compactions, repairs, backup and recovery.
Resolving schema disagreements and managing configurations.
Experience in Cassandra maintenance activities like upgrades and migrations.
Strong knowledge of Linux and comfort working from the command line (essential).
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English (essential).Preferably prior IT customer service/support experience in an ITIL-based setup.
Solid computer science fundamentals, including OS internals, memory management, and networking.
Ability to follow processes and procedures and work collaboratively within a team.
Preferred ability to investigate Cassandra issues by reviewing Apache Cassandra codebase.Programming skills in Python or Java, and experience with Git for source control (a plus).Knowledge of public cloud technologies (AWS), Docker, and Ansible (a great addition).

Typically requires a minimum of 4-8 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree or 3 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 3 years experience; or equivalent experience.
