We are looking for skilled engineers with proven expertise in plant pre?commissioning, start?up, and troubleshooting. Candidates should demonstrate strong knowledge of site safety procedures, process control, utilities, and key equipment such as pumps, heat exchangers, and vacuum systems. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Strong knowledge of site safety procedures, including hazardous environment requirements (HAZOP), confined space entry, fall protection, MSDS, and PPE compliance. Proven experience in pre?commissioning tests, process start?up, and troubleshooting across multiple projects. Practical expertise in process control, plant utilities, piping systems, and process equipment such as pumps, heat exchangers, and vacuum systems. Ability to interpret and work with engineering drawings including P&IDs, vessel assemblies, plant layouts, piping routings, and isometrics. Solid foundation in fluid mechanics, unit operations, heat transfer, stoichiometric calculations, and heat/mass balance. Basic proficiency in equipment sizing, hydraulic calculations, pressure relief capacity determination, and orifice plate flow analysis.

Site Pre?Commissioning Responsibilities

Validate mechanical and electrical erection. Confirm readiness of utilities. Conduct tests using water, vapor, and compressed air. Perform I/O testing of electrical components and instruments in collaboration with automation engineers. Execute dry run tests of equipment (boilers, chillers, centrifuges, etc.) to validate electromechanical aspects. Carry out wet run tests (with water, without raw material). Conduct no?load tests of all process sections and sequences with automation engineers.

Site Start?Up Responsibilities

Validate completion of pre?commissioning activities. Ensure all peripherals (e.g., water treatment systems, storage tanks) are operational. Verify availability of raw materials, reagents, additives, and consumables. Confirm safety devices (firefighting systems, vapor barriers, solvent traps) are operational and compliant with regulations. Check that all permits are obtained by the client. Ensure spare parts and laboratory facilities are available and functional. Obtain formal agreement with the client and Desmet to proceed safely with start?up. Start up the plant, conduct operating tests, measure and fine?tune processes to achieve guaranteed capacity and specifications. Perform performance testing and handover. Train client operating personnel in collaboration with automation engineers.

Site Troubleshooting Responsibilities

Collect operating and laboratory data as required. Analyze data to identify root causes of deviations in utilities or process performance. Develop and implement systematic plans to restore performance within specification.

REQUIRED PROFILE

Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering. 5-8 years of experience in process industry plant operations; background in oilseeds, oils, fats, or oleochemicals preferred (other related industries accepted). Strong willingness to travel extensively (>70%), often at short notice, with ability to stay on site for extended durations. Valid passport with eligibility to obtain visas for multiple countries without restriction. Excellent command of English; proficiency in additional languages such as Spanish, French, or Chinese is an advantage. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to independently manage technical and non?technical communication with clients and global offices. Capability to adapt and manage oneself effectively in foreign environments (international driving license desirable). Demonstrated ability to mentor, guide, and motivate junior Site Process Engineers. Professionalism, self?motivation, and commitment to delivering safe, efficient, and reliable plant operations
